erstmal wird die neue werkserie der clippings im rahmen einer ausstellung präsentiert. zweigstelle berlin präsentiert bei augsburg contemporary drei bildhauerische positionen. die ausstellung läuft vom 25. april bis 29. mai und ist absofort auch digital besuchbar.

Florian Lechner operiert als Bildhauer sowohl im analog-physischen bis hinein in den digital-virtuellen Raum. Er dekonstruiert und verdichtet, befragt die Konventionen der Bildhauerei sowie den Status einer Handlungsspur, eines Reliktes. Es geht um das statische Objekt bis hin zur potentiellen Möglichkeit. Er schafft auf diese Weise Erfahrungsräume im Diskurs um eine skulptural-plastische Präsenz. Seine abstrakten Werke im Grenzbereich von Realitat und Fiktion können durchaus als Sinnbilder für unsere fordernde, digital geprägte Welt stehen, in der sich zunehmend die Frage stellen lässt, ob diese Unterscheidung noch ihren Sinn erfüllt. Das aktuelle Projekt “Clippings“ spürt dabei mithilfe der Verwendung von 3D-Software wie 3D-Drucker der Frage nach, ob gedruckte Plastiken eine ähnliche Funktion und Rolle für Repräsentation und Verkörperung übernehmen, wie dies bei der Fotografie der Fall ist.

Florian Lechner operates as a sculptor both in the analog-physical and in the digital-virtual space. He deconstructs and condenses, questions the conventions of sculpture as well as the status of a trace of action, a relic. It is about the static object up to the potential possibility. In this way he creates experiential spaces in the discourse around a sculptural-plastic presence. His abstract works on the borderline between reality and fiction can certainly stand as symbols for our demanding, digitally influenced world, in which the question increasingly arises as to whether this distinction still serves its purpose. With the help of 3D software such as 3D printers, the current project "Clippings" explores the question of whether printed sculptures assume a similar function and role for representation and embodiment as is the case with photography.
